Artist’s Comments :

Mark Ryden is one of the best artist painting today. Early on as he was redefining outsider art he painted a picture called TAJO- the Patron Saint of Clowns. I have been and always will be a toy designer at heart. I worked for Toys R Us in high school, Gentle Giant Studios in college, McFarlane Toys and the almost defunct Master Replicas. For me this is the Patron Saint of Toys. I began painting this picture when I was in college. At the time it was going to be the Nipple Headed Boy. The head was going to be a giant breast with a perfectly render nipple in the upper right corner of the boy’s head. I think I made a good decision when I changed it ten years later.
